Updating Holiday Baking

Orange Cranberry Cake for Holiday BakingHoliday baking is like no other time of the year.  With the holidays upon us, I thought it might be interesting to go back into my past blogs and pull up some of the best holiday baking.

There is a cheesecake, pie, cakes, muffins and a lot of cookies that might be new to your Holiday cookie selection.  I’ve even included my favorite Cranberry Relish which is really easy, has nothing to do with baking but is one of my best holiday dishes.

Holiday baking needn’t be stressful.  Many of the recipes here can be made ahead in whole or in part.  Many can be frozen.  All will add to your holiday baking repertoire and I hope become traditions for you.

I think you may have helped me out a bit. I was planning on making a baked Brie as an appetizer and wanted to use cranberries so I was going to search for a cranberry relish and here it is. I think the pineapple will go great with the baked brie. And be still my heart…an Apple Crisp Cheesecake! Now I have a problem…the White Chocolate Cranberry Cheesecake I was planning or the Apple Crisp one. (I would add cranberries to it since I add cranberries to my apple crisps anyway. Cranberries would tie the meal together!)
Thank you for another delicious dilemma you have put before me.

Hi Nikki – and thank you for letting me know. You are a person after my own heart. I love, love, love cranberries. When I had the bakery every year the staff would make me pare down the cranberry offerings. I had, or tried to have, so many cranberry offerings that you would have thought I owned a bog. Happy holidays to you, no matter what you decide – but the Apple Crisp Cheesecake was a huge seller!!!
