Greek Orange Yogurt Cake with Orange Syrup also known as Portokalopita is one of the best desserts I have ever eaten.  Made with crushed  dried phyllo it can be made several days ahead.  I wish I could say I was embarrassed that Mike and I ate the entire pan without sharing it.  But I gladly admit to it and would do it again!  It is simple to make and outstandingly good. Greek Orange Yogurt Cake

That was the inspiration for this cake.  A single layer of yellow cake is washed with a rum syrup and topped with caramelized pineapple.  Nothing more to say!The Pina Colada Cake for A Tale of One Cake Layer

Great, great selection of cakes, one would have to be perfect for MOM.

We’re doing my version of the coconut cake, it’s been planned in advance, chocolate was offered, but deferred for later. We can do chocolate next week.

    Thank you, Helen.

    Hi Helen,
Quick question- I was trying to PIN the recipe for the crumb cake, but it will not allow me to do that. Clicking the P button ( pinterest )only leads me to another page of suggested venues/links for saving) .Any reason for that? I checked your pinterest site, but I can’t find it there either..
Thank you for all these great recipes!!..

Hi Dolores – I quit pinning to Pintrest some time ago so it may not be there. They changed their interface and, to be honest, I just don’t have the time to post to social media. I have no idea but you can put in a PDF file and save it on your computer if you wish. Simply go to the print button and at the top it has a PDF option. Also, if you decide to print out a recipe and don’t want the photos, simply click the 0 and no photos will be printed. You can also delete all the header information if you like. Hope this helps, Sorry for the inconvenience.
