Same Blog - New Look

Chocolate Strawberry Truffle Tart

Same blog - New Look. I am so happy to introduce the updated look of Pastries Like a Pro. Clean, minimal, sleek and easy to maneuver...everything I want for you.

The very top navigation bar will connect you wherever you want to go. The current blog is first up on the home page, just click on it and it will take you to my latest post.

Below that is a variety of areas for you to consider. Click on a photo and it will take you to the recipe in a flash.

I am using a recipe card now that allows you to print easily and pin to pintrest. I hope you enjoy them.

As always, I'll post about everything baking and pastry along with some of my favorite savory dishes also since bakers have to eat also.

Something new! I intend to post as usual on Monday and also send you a mid week post, Tidbit Thursdays, which is just a bit of information I think you might find useful. A tip, a photo, a link to something that adds to your knowledge or repertoire.

Do let me know what you think of the new look. Remember - Same Blog - New Look. And, if you have questions, I am an email away at non www.pastrieslikeapro@gmail.com

As always, thank you for being here. I know you have a lot of choices and I appreciate that you have chosen Pastries Like A Pro.

Kudos!! I also want to thank you for your new cookie book. I have long wanted a cookie book that had some other type of recipes than the same old tired ones, especially choc. chip....I just made shortbread cookies today and last week the lemon crinkles (wow!) and the lime aways.
Three times on the lemon ones. Thanks again for all of your hard work on the blog!

Hi Dorothy, Thanks so much for letting me know. You will appreciate that I am in the throes of making 500 cookies for Valentine's day. All of which will be baked and glazed a few days before.

Lovely!! Thank you. Now the “accept cookies” pop-up is gone from its permanent place on the bottom of the screen (on my phone), and the menu button works. It just never worked right on my most commonly used device. Thank you so much for the time and money you’ve devoted to this (and EVERYTHING ELSE) you do for us.

I often feel like I just have a full plate. But I wouldn't be happy otherwise. Thank you so much.

    Hi Helen.

Your updated Web site is a huge improvement over the last version. I had to read everything a few times to be sure what was part of your commentary and recipe and what was part of an ad. Now it's so much easier to read, so your work stands front and center.

Excellent job!!! Thxx for what you do and all you share.

    Brava!

Hi Cheryl, thank you so much. I appreciate hearing from you. The recipe card is a challenge so I started with something really simple. Definitely more to come as I figure everything out. But I am happy with the new look. So clean with lots of white to make things easy for you.

Hello Helen - the new look and feel of the Same Blog - New Look is fantastic. Easy to navigate and retrieve a recipe you always wanted to try and never did. Love your recipes. This is what you meant when you wrote in an earlier blog that you had a surprise in store for your readers. A wonderful surprise indeed and a great New Year's gift to us. Thank you for the time and effort you spent on re-creating your Blog and for the additional time you will spend posting future blogs. The baking information and other tips and tricks being in one place also helps in easy retrieval. I wish you much joy and more as you give us with your recipes and much success in all your endeavours.

Hi Astrid, thank you so much. This has a steep learning curve so I hope everyone is patient while I learn block editing and recipe cards. But I value all of my readers so much and it's important for me to give you the best baking experience I can and that includes updating the blog. Yes, this was the surprise.

Congratulations on the updated site, Helen. One observation: it appears that one is not able to leave a comment on older recipes. The existing comments appear to be image files. I discovered this when I went to leave a comment on an old recipe (unbelievable cheesecake) and then saw that this is the case for others. (I am using an ipad, in case it is a mobile issue).

I wanted to say that I made your European cheesecake from your original cookbook for Christmas Eve dinner. This is one of my all-time favorite, completely perfect, recipes, and I make it for special occasions every few years. But I am curious to try the much faster “Unbelievable” cheesecake to compare taste and texture of the filling.

    • hfletcher says

      January 16, 2022 at 6:45 am

Hi Jane, comments are closed after a while on all older posts. All of them are that way. It's a function of WordPress. But you're always free to post here about anything or send me an email. That's fine also. The two cheesecakes are completely different. The Unbelievable Cheesecake is not as complex and very straight forward. It has a pure, clean cheesecake taste and is very creamy.

Thanks, Helen, good to know I can post “off-topic”! Looking forward to trying the unbelievable cheesecake, probably nice for summer.
