These Love Bars are a variation of one of the most unusual, delicious cakes I have found in recent memory. The recipe, with minor changes, comes from “Bourke Street Bakery, All Things Sweet“. It’s a beautiful book with gorgeous photography and great recipes. I’m not even sure how I found it but I am so happy I did. While they serve this as a cake Down Under, I cut it into bars and if I still had my bakery it would be front and center in the case. Continue reading

Pumpkin Mousse Torte is an easily made dessert that can be made ahead and frozen. In fact, that is exactly how we sold them to our clientele when I had the bakery. It takes one more thing off of the to-do list for Thanksgiving dinner…something I am always thankful for.
This was, without question, the most popular dessert we made for the fall months including Thanksgiving. A crumb crust, cheesecake layer topped with a light, but intense pumpkin mousse soon became everyone’s favorite. Continue reading
This Easy Hawaiian Sundae, is a special endding for a grilled dinner. Fresh pineapple and a coconut cream chocolate sauce are topped with salted, toasted macadamia nuts which can be found in the snack aisle of my grocery store.
It is important to use coconut cream which can be found in the liquor department of most grocery stores. There are several brands including Coco Lopez and Roland Cream of Coconut. Do not use coconut milk. It is a different product and will not work here. Continue reading
