Truffles|Candy|Pastries Like a PrRed Roses, dinner out, jewelry and candy headline the possible gifts for Valentine’s Day. Of all of these, candy is my favorite followed by yellow roses or tulips tied with a lavender ribbon.

So for this Valentine’s Day, I have searched my posts and come up with six candy recipes that will make any candy lover happy.  They are all easy and can be made ahead so there is no last minute rush.  You will notice I have a predilection for macadamia nuts for which I do not apologize.  They are among my favorite nuts that are definitely worth the splurge for your Valentine.

Just in case you missed it, I like to stack up shards of candy.

Chocolate Truffles for Holiday Food GiftsFood gifts are always welcome, but even more so during the holiday season.  Every year the holidays arrive faster and faster.  No matter how I try, there is no way to slow them down.  When I was a little girl, time could not go by fast enough.  Now that I am no longer a little girl, it goes all too fast.

Many of us, including me, have people on our gift list that we want to remember. There is no better way to let someone know you appreciate them or what they do than with food gifts you make.  So I drew together a list of quick to make and wonderful to receive gifts that are not cookies.  Don’t get me wrong, I love making and giving cookies, but they can be time-consuming if you work or are just busy. Peanut Butter CupsToday was TV day on KMOV TV’s Great Day St. Louis.  This was my 4 minute segment.

Every once in a while I get a hankering for a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. So recently I had one. I don’t know if it was me or if the formula was changed but it seemed gritty and not at all smooth like I remembered it.

So I set out to capture the taste I remembered and low and behold, I think it’s better! And not only better, but really, really easy. For ingredients for the peanut butter and two for the chocolate. So there’s no excuse for not making these Peanut Butter Cups.

The small paper liner cups can be found in grocery stores, party stores, and kitchen stores. They need to be small and just fit the cups. It is ok if they rise slightly above the cups. Continue reading
